Tir na Spideoga Fishing Lodge is situated on the shores of Lough Allua , approx. 5km from Inchigeelagh Village , overlooking a narrow but long water system , also called the ' Inchigeelagh lakes ' . Lough Allua ranks amongst the top pike fishing waters of Ireland , regularly producing pike of 20 and 30 lbs. and still it is one of the least known pike venues on the island .
There is no closed season and no permits are required, while catch & release is encouraged.
Other species to be caught are perch, bream, roach, rudd, eel and the occasional rainbow and brown trout.
Residents and non residents of the lodge can avail of five 17ft.lake boats with or without an engine . A boat & engine including petrol will cost you € 40,- per day . In most cases you will find the lake deserted with no other anglers to be seen.
Life jackets for all sizes are available and we hire fishing tackle at € 5,- per day .
STAY IN ONE OF OUR THATCHED COTTAGES OR ENJOY B&B IN OUR 200 YEAR OLD FARMHOUSE.
In our small tackle shop you will find a quality range of tackle , lures and baits , a depth chart of the lake and of course a good deal of advice. You may as well rent a fishfinder at € 5,- per day or € 30,- per week . If it is your first time on Lough Allua it sure is a good idea to book a ghillie at € 60,- for 1 angler and € 80,- per day for 2 anglers.
We have our own fish smoking house and you may smoke your catch or have it done by us for a small fee.
